This, is the 2nd issue of the new format…..

We’re hoping you like it – it is a work in progress, a man-in-motion sort of thing.

It will ebb/flow, meander and change, within certain parameters as the best combination
of features and ease-of-use is synthesized……

For a few more weeks, the MainSite [www.designplanonline.net] will continue
along a parallel pathway – the MainPage will be a linear container of all categories/topics
with PageLinks to the dedicated pages – i.e, id • interior design, a • architecture, b • biz, etc.

However, at a certain point the MainPage will contain only ‘leaders’- visual samples/graphics
of what is to be found on the category page.This is to allow readers seeking, say, a • architecture,
or t • tech/tools to go directly to that page.

Each category page will ‘house’, for the current month, the previous weeks content.
At the beginning of a new month, all content will be removed [don't worry - all back issues
will still be available in archives]. Thus, a reader/journeyer can focus on all the i • industrial design
content for the complete month – and so on and so on.

Lots…….lots is new, starting with this issue.

A great deal of t/e (time/effort) has been devoted to exploring mays by which DesignPlan could be improved.

How it could be improved for you, the reader.

And, here is what we’ve come up with…..

Up until now DesignPlan has been completely linear. When you landed on the MainPage at www.DesignPlanOnline.net,
the complete issue was a continuous stream – no way to jump to the end, or to a category which may be of greater interest
to you.

That has changed – or, is in the process of changing. For a few weeks the linear arrangement will be maintained,
but at the same time, categories can be directly PageLinked such that if you wish to go immediately to, say OPINION -
just click on the icon. If ARCHITECTURE is what interests you, same thing. Etc., etc., etc.

So – the key categories as of now are:

Opinion

Interior Design

Architecture

Graphics

Careers

Photography

Resources

eXtra

Real estate

Biz

Tech/Tools

Education

……..others may be added over time but these will probably be the core categories.

We hope you like this change/improvement….if you have any thoughts, suggestions at all please send them

And it was only a few days ago that CES [Consumer Electronics Show]  in Las Vegas packed up all their

tents and headed off into the techSunset.

But not before they brought these goodies to our attention : :

It is – a SpareOne. Spare what?

Spare cel-phone – an emergency backup spare cel-phone top keep in your purse,
your car – your bicycle saddle bag – wherever it might make sense. As you can discern,
it runs off a single AA battery……it is, VERYcool – inexpensive, and battery lasts
an amazingly long time…..
